"We All Belong"
We All Belong

This is another title track and I like it. It actually plays when you visit Dr. Dog's official site. I couldn't find the lyrics online and I hate when that happens, but Scott McMicken (aka Taxi) sings the words quite clearly. They have a couple of songs from each of their albums for download on their sounds page. The band is from Philadelphia and they all have odd monikers such as Taxi, Tables, Text, Time, and Thanks.
"I'll Be Your Man"

The Elected are comprised of band members from Rilo Kiley, Ozma, and Reel Big Fish (and other changing members). I guess most notably though, the band is fronted by Blake Sennett from Rilo Kiley. This song features vocals from Eisley's Stacy DuPree and has such a relaxing quality to it. When played live though, Mike Bloom provides the "bom, bom bom bom, bom" parts.
"McFearless"

Upon first listen of this album, this was a song that caught my attention. I love the guitar intro that has a distortion-like sound. I think it's about having to perform the same song over and over again while on the road and emote the same emotions each time. Of course, writing a song is when your emotions are fresh and performing it or reading it for the first couple of times, you're still feeling the same energy. But over multiple performances, I'm sure it starts to wear off, but you still have to perform for your fans and have them feel what you are (or were) feeling. I think the lyric "It's my role" refers to being in the music industry and being on stage... he has an obligation to perform even though there are times he probably doesn't. But at the same time, it helps him with a release of energy and emotions.

Every music blog has probably posted Cold War Kids at least once. Here's that one post. A description about this song... in Nathan Willett's words, "It's about a mother lecturing her daughter."
"April Fools"

Today is April Fool's Day. Here's a song from none other than the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. It's a love song. It's got soul. It's got funk. It's got umph.
Artist: The Bastard Fairies
Song: Moribund
Album: Memento Mori

The Bastard Fairies have made their album, Memento Mori, available free for downloading. They want you to copy it, distribute it, and share it. Some of the songs have a similar sound to CocoRosie with the female echoey feedback effect. They recorded a video of an acoustic version of "Moribund" which is available on their YouTube page.
I found this video funny too. It's a commercial for The Bastard Fairies and features an 8 year-old actress who goes apeshit on Bill O'Reilly.

The White Stripes are working on a new album called Icky Thump and that makes me happy. They posted a short clip of them recording a song called "I'm Slowly Turning Into You" on their site. Although, I don't think the person in the skeleton costume is Meg. But I could be wrong. The teaser still sounds awesome.

This is the title track.
The album cover reminds me of The White Stripes with the red, black, and white color scheme.

Jesse Harris has worked with Norah Jones on various songs on each other's albums and Sasha Dobson is signed to his label, Secret Sun Recordings. Jesse Harris' latest album Mineral (this song doesn't appear on this album) and Sasha Dobson's Modern Romance (this song does appear on this album) are available for streaming in its entirety on the SSR website.
The song was written by Jesse Harris and covered by Sasha Dobson.
Song: Fahrenheit 451
Album: 6 Billion People

The title of this song grabbed my attention since I read the book when I was in junior high. I dug the book and I dig the song. For 6 Billion People, Tender Trap got Claudia Gonson from The Magnetic Fields to play drums and sing backing vocals. Sweet.
